Mary Dumelie It is with fond memories and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary (Klein) Dumelie who was born Aug. 25, 1912 and departed this life on Feb. 5, 2010. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Gilbert, son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Carol, grandchildren, Keegan Crompton and Kella Mastad . She is survived by her children, Gil (Terrie), Larry (Karen), Roger (Cathy), Eileen (Eugene), Louise, Carol (Les), Ann (Calvin), Florence (Gilbert), Leona (Lorne), 47 grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren. In her 97 years, mom accomplished a wide variety of skills, interests and hobbies. She touched many lives with her no-nonsense and practical approach to life. She was a woman who had many talents and a great zest for life. Her artistic talent led her to creating totem poles, oil paintings, soap stone carvings, toys and a wide variety of other forms of art. Mom loved music and she performed for the public until she was 90 years old. In her youth, she played with other musicians at school and community dances in the Flintoft, Fir Mountain and Lafleche communities. She played the organ for church services in Glentworth for a number of years. In her later years, she played with a group of friends to entertain at the Lafleche Club 50. Mom loved nature. Her garden often led visitors to stop and admire her creations whether it was her carvings, fish pond, collections of fossils and petrified wood, or her prairie and tame flowers and plant varieties. Mom had a competitive nature and loved to play sports, cards and the Nintendo Wii. She curled and bowled with her husband and friends, played on a family ball team with her daughters and nieces, loved to play bridge and cribbage as well as a variety of other card games. Dad and she would play cards almost nightly after their retirement from the farm near Fir Mountain to the town of Lafleche. Dad and mom traveled to various places in Canada and United States. They also had taken trips to Europe. They enjoyed many camping and fishing trips to Northern Saskatchewan. Mom loved to travel and her final journey will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 2:00 pm in Lafleche's St. Radegonde Church when we celebrate a life well lived. Mom and Dad had many lifelong friends from the communities in which they lived. The family truly appreciated all their parent's friends and the assistance they gave them especially in their golden years. These strong ties continued after Dad passed away and their friends were faithful in assisting mom. Mary's family would also like to acknowledge the excellent care and love that she received from the staff and residents of Albert William House in Emerald Park. It was so comforting to know that she was so compassionately looked after in her final years. 1445709
