Pineault, Josephine Published: 2010-03-09 Josephine Mary Pineault (Walwyn) October 19, 1916 March 6, 2010 Josephine Mary Pineault (Walwyn) died peacefully at home on March 6th, 2010. She was born October 19th, 1916 in Lipton, Saskatchewan. Josephine was predeceased by her parents Charles and Verona; sisters Clara, Clarice and Celia; brothers Charles and Mervyn; and nephews Terry Walwyn and John Walwyn. Josephine attended school in Lipton and was involved in Girl Guides, ice and speed skating. The family spent many happy times at the cottage at Echo Lake by Fort Qu'Appelle, with aunts and uncles and friends always dropping by. Josephine remained home after high school to care for her mother and sister Clara. She started work at Fort San in 1949. In 1954, Josephine married Remi Pineault, who also worked at the San. In 1971, they transferred to the Saskatoon San, where Josephine worked in medical records and Remi worked in the canteen and craft shop. They retired together in 1976 and were able to spend a year together before Remi passed away in 1977. She enjoyed traveling, a trip to London and many happy trips around the country in her motorhome with her sister Celia. Celia came to live with her in 1995. Although Josephine never had children of her own, her home was always open to the neighborhood children, as well as nieces and nephews who will all miss her very much. She was blessed with many special friendships through her involvement in the church community and her volunteer activities with other seniors. Josephine is survived by nieces Dianne (Dennis) Schneider and family, Joanne (George) Ross and family; nephews Allan Reiten and family and Gordon Reiten as well as other nieces, nephews and special friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 11th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church (211 Avenue O South, Saskatoon, SK) with celebrant Fr. Jon Hansen. Rite of Committal will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Josephine's memory may be made to the St. Mary's Memorial Fund (address as above) or The Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation (2217C Hanselman Court, Saskatoon, SK, S7L 6A8).
