Hogan, Patrick Published: 2010-02-08 HOGAN PATRICK BRIAN July 30, 1929 February 6, 2010 We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of our wonderful husband, father and grandfather Patrick Brian Hogan on February 6, 2010 at 80 years of age. He was born in Bangalore, India on July 30, 1929 to William and Olga Hogan. He attended boarding school at St Joseph's College in Coonoor in the mountainous region of southern India. In 1945 Patrick went to London and being of conscription age joined the British Army entering the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst in Surrey, UK. He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery and went to Hong Kong. During his two years in Hong Kong he became acquainted with the Canadian Trade Commissioner who assisted with Patrick's move to Montreal in 1954. Patrick met his wife Barbara in January 1955 and they were married in Montreal on New Years Eve of that year. In 1956 they moved to London, ON where all four children were born. After ten years in London followed by five years in Waterloo, the family moved to Regina in 1970 when Patrick assumed responsibilities for developing the business machine market for Pitney Bowes throughout the Province. After a distinguished 28-year career with Pitney Bowes, he became an investment adviser with Burns Fry in 1984 until retiring in 1990. Patrick is survived by his loving wife Barbara, his daughter Pam (Greg), and grandchildren Adam, Jenelle and Mark; three sons Paul (Dalena) and grandchildren Kelly, Sean and Shannon; Mike (Dawn) and grandson Peyton; and Brent (Tammie) and granddaughter Emma. Patrick has been blessed to enjoy many joys that life has to offer but none more than loving his wife, children, their spouses and especially his grandchildren. Patrick will be missed by all. A FUNERAL SERVICE AND CELEBRATION will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Saturday February 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Ken Koep officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK S4T 7T1 or the Regina Prostate Cancer Support Group, attention Anita Zhorneyko, Radiology Dept., 4101 Dewdney Ave, Regina, SK S4T 1A5.
